How to Change Huawei Router Wi-Fi Settings

This guide is specifically for Huawei routers that use the IP address 192.168.100.1 and the provided login credentials.

Step 1: Access the Router's Web Interface

  1. Open any web browser on a device connected to your router's Wi-Fi network.

  2. In the address bar, type 192.168.100.1 and press Enter.

  3. A login page will appear. Enter the default credentials:

    • Username: telecomadmin

    • Password: admintelecom

  4. Click the "Login" or "OK" button to proceed.

Step 2: Navigate to WLAN Settings

  1. After logging in, you'll be on the main dashboard.

  2. Look for a menu item or tab labeled "WLAN Settings," "Wi-Fi Settings," or a similar name. It may be under a broader category like "Basic" or "Network."

Step 3: Change Wi-Fi Name and Password

  1. On the WLAN Settings page, you'll see fields for your network's name (SSID) and password.

  2. Find the field for "SSID" or "Wi-Fi Name" and type in your new network name.

  3. Locate the field for "WPA Pre-Shared Key" or "Wi-Fi Password" and enter your desired password.

  4. Ensure the "Authentication Mode" or "Security Type" is set to WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK or WPA2-PSK for the best security. 🔒

  5. Click the "Apply" or "Save" button to confirm your changes.

Important Note: An error in typing the new Wi-Fi name or password can cause you to lose access to the router. If this happens, you will not be able to connect to the network. FTTH field teams typically do not handle these issues and may not be able to help. To regain access, you will need to take the router to the office for reconfiguration.
